Home > Student Life > Technology and Innovation
In an era where technology such as Artificial Intelligence is transforming the way we live, learn, and communicate, a school’s focus on digital design and technology integration has become paramount. By immersing our students in a tech-driven educational environment, ISWA prepares them to thrive in a digitally connected world. Through technology, students engage with learning experiences that transcend traditional boundaries, igniting their curiosity and creativity.
With dynamic Information and Communication Technology programs, ISWA doesn’t just teach – we grow our students’ digital literacy skills, equipping them to succeed in the ever-evolving landscape of technology. We aim to create an environment where innovation thrives, where students not only grasp IT concepts but also harness its power to improve their learning across all subjects.
ICT Hardware
Our youngest learners, from Kindergarten to Year 3, can dive into the world of digital learning with a classroom set of Apple iPad tablets. It’s a whole new way to explore and learn!
Year 4 students receive their own personal Apple iPad that will be their trusty sidekick throughout their study journey, both at school and at home. These come with a physical keyboard that doubles as a screen cover.
Students in Year 6 to 12 receive a powerful HP ProBook laptop, allowing them to expand their digital skills journey at school and at home.
These devices are the responsibility of the student and our all-inclusive school fees cover the cost of the hardware.
Wi-Fi and internet access is available in all ISWA classrooms, and every classroom is equipped with either an interactive whiteboard or a digital projector.
ICT Software
ISWA uses Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud, providing students and teachers with a comprehensive suite of digital tools and apps for collaboration, learning, and innovative productivity.
In the 2023-24 school year, we’re implementing two new platforms, our new school management system, Compass, and Toddle, a learning management system built especially for the IB.
We wish to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land we are on, the Whadjuk (Perth region) people and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge, respect and seek to learn from their wisdom, continuing culture and the contribution they make to the life of this city and this region.
