With families from all over the world, our Parent Association (PA) offers a warm welcome to everyone in the school community. Our network of parents provides friendly support to recently arrived families and ensures that everyone belongs.
Parent Social Clubs
The PA offers a variety of social opportunities, activities and gatherings for families to participate in such as running club, movie club, and more.
School Activities
The PA volunteers support school celebrations such as the Athletics Carnival, Harmony Day, the Art Expo, Welcome Sundowner, School Ball and more.
Parent Meetings
These meetings are a great opportunity for families to connect. The PA hosts one or more meetings each term at the School.
Executive PA and Class Parent Representatives
The Executive PA and Class Parents Representatives are positive ambassadors for the School. A current list of representatives with contact details will be made available at the beginning of each term.
A Message from our PA President
The Parent Association is a voluntary and social association of ISWA parents and guardians who helps welcome and support members.
In the PA Committee there are a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurers and a Communication Coordinator, our mission is:
“to foster a culture of friendliness, tolerance and connections for all members of the ISWA community”.
The PA encourages fellowship through social events and collaboration with the school staff, with the intent to reflect positive values of respect, inclusion, open-mindedness and global citizenship, and collaborates with the school to help with the execution of activities that support students.
The PA in collaboration with the school encourages fellowship through social events with the intent to reflect positive values of respect, inclusion, open-mindedness and global citizenship.
For the same purpose, the PA aims to encourage the formation of social clubs, so to create friendships and an engaging environment for parents and guardians.
The welcoming and supportive setting is intended for all families at ISWA, including new families, possibly by providing information to them prior to and soon after their arrival.
The PA Committee has an obligation to promote awareness of the association amongst all ISWA families and ISWA staff, to foster a positive image of diversity, goodwill, community and friendship, and lastly to act as a voice for the community and to serve as a liaison between parents, the school and the school board.
The PA has its own private Facebook group page (look for “ISWA Parent Association”) where lots of information is posted, and there is a section in SEQTA Engage (look for “Portals” and “Parent Association”) with more documents and information.
Our committee team is always open to new parents who would like to get involved, please get in touch! And to all parents, all offers of help, whatever time you can afford to give, are warmly welcomed.
Looking forward to seeing all of you soon!
Rachel Taylor, PA President
